Over the next three years we became good friends and hung around the same group of people. During junior year of high school, Logan asked me to prom and we started dating shortly after. We had to commit to doing a long distance relationship for junior and senior of high school with Logan living in Bismarck and myself living in West Fargo. We both started at UND in August 2015. In January 2017 we both left for training for the Army National Guard- we spent almost 7 months apart! After that experience I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Logan! I had bought the ring early in July before our trip so I could ask Ivy at some point while we were there. I didn’t really have anything planned so I was waiting for the perfect moment. One morning we went to Ruby Beach in Washington. It was foggy over the big rocks in the ocean and forestry along the coast. We found a secluded cave with a direct view of the ocean – I knew it was the perfect moment to ask Ivy to marry me!
